When you’re happy, you need to know how to celebrate.

A surreal period of fear and reflection, constriction and suffocation, just ended. The thing I missed the most was not being able to plan a journey, in its broadest sense.
Visiting a museum, having lunch by the lakeside, or walking in the countryside.

“It’s like being at war”. How many times did I hear this sentence during these months of seclusion? No, it wasn’t a war. During a war you don’t watch Netflix on your couch and you don’t go looking for leaven to find out if deep down you’re a good baker. You don’t subscribe to Disney Plus to get a daily hour of rest from your kids.
War takes everything away from you. War makes you run away. War makes you fear you can’t protect your loved ones. It makes you walk for days and days to dream for a future. It makes you embark on a boat, because the waves represent your hope.
The lockdown ended with a bit more of awareness and with the wish to start everything over again. We celebrated its conclusion by savoring the flavors of distant lands and by helping those who saw the war with their very eyes.

On Terrazzo Labicano, with our adventure companions, we indulged on a dinner featuring Syrian flavors from Hummustown, an association that helps Syrian refugees in Rome obtain economical independency by offering them a dignified occupation: cooking, packing and delivering Syrian food in Rome and its surroundings.
We laughed while eating Falafel, hummus and other delicacies, while being thankful that this overwhelming wave is slowly retiring and leaving space for more awareness.
Indulge on a spiced luxury on www.hummustown.com, it will be like traveling again after a long time!

“E’ come stare in guerra.
