If I had to go on a journey and spend the day amidst museums, markets and long strolls, which bag would I wear?

My Ottavia was born like this.

A spacious bag with three compartments and an adjustable shoulder strap, comfortable and practical but at the same time sophisticated and elegant. Because being comfortable and having a roomy or sporty bag is fair, but so is being chic, don’t you think? And what makes it that way are the small, lovely details like the shoulder strap’s buckle covered with snakeskin, like the central bit of the sides and a part of the latch. Made with the best italian hides, each one of the bags has its unique color and different character.

On a wonderful January morning, I honored the anomalous warm weather and stopped for lunch on the outdoor tables of Giggetto’s, a historical restaurant of the ghetto.
A beautiful window from which I could look at the world that honours my beloved city. So many tourists cross the jewish quarter, so I started observing the bags worn by the strolling ladies, only to find out that many of them sacrificed elegance on behalf of practicality. On the same afternoon, I was in my workshop to create my new bag.

Born from a casual lunch, I honor it with the name of Ottavia, because while I was curious about the tourists from all around the world, on the other hand I couldn’t but turn my gaze to the Portico d’Ottavia at my left, which fascinates me in a different way everytime. Built by emperor Augustus in honor of his beloved sister Ottavia, who was said to be a charming woman and a mediator, just like my bag that wants to find the right mediation between elegance and practicality.
